Bud has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Markel Cambridge Alliance since in inception. Bud is the author of several articles on professional liability insurance and loss prevention. Bud is also a frequent speaker at financial industry events.

Alex Martin

Alex has been with Markel since 2006, and joined Markel Cambridge Alliance in 2009 and serves as Managing Director. Alex is responsible for business planning, strategy, and project management. Prior to joining Markel, Alex spent five years at a private investment bank working in mergers and acquisitions.

Nancy B. Bigelow

Nancy serves as Consulting Underwriter for Markel Cambridge Alliance. Nancy has more than 20 years of experience as an underwriter, and has been responsible for all Underwriting at Markel Cambridge Alliance since the program’s establishment. In her current role Nancy is focused on underwriter training and product development.

Milt Beard

Cynthia Johnson

Cynthia has been an Underwriter for Markel Cambridge Alliance since June 2005. She has worked her entire career in the property/casualty insurance industry in Claims, Operations and Human Resources. She holds a Certificate in General Insurance, an Associate in Claim designation and an Associate in Management designation from the Insurance Institute of America.

Julie joined us as an Underwriting Assistant in 2003, and has proved to be a quick study! Julie was promoted to underwriter in 2009. Julie graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Vermont.

Prior to Markel, Greg has over 10 years of Financial Services experience, an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Puget Sound and an MBA from William & Mary. Greg has significant business experience with American Funds, Paychex, MassMutual, and a third party 401k administrator. |
