Bayard "Bud" Bigelow, III

Bud has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Markel Cambridge Alliance since in inception. Bud is the author of several articles on professional liability insurance and loss prevention. Bud is also a frequent speaker at financial industry events. 

Alex Martin

Alex has been with Markel since 2006, and joined Markel Cambridge Alliance in 2009 as Director.  Alex is responsible for business planning, strategy, and project management.  Prior to joining Markel, Alex spent five years at a private investment bank working in mergers and acquisitions.

 

Travis Pearson tpearson@markelcorp.com         Richmond, Virginia Office Travis has been Underwriting Manager for Markel Cambridge Alliance since December 2009.  Prior to joining Markel Cambridge Alliance, Travis was with Chubb, where he was a Senior Underwriting Officer for Financial Institutions.

Nancy B. Bigelow

Nancy serves as Consulting Underwriter for Markel Cambridge Alliance. Nancy has more than 20 years of experience as an underwriter, and has been responsible for all Underwriting at Markel Cambridge Alliance since the program’s establishment.  In her current role Nancy is focused on underwriter training and product development.

C. Anthony "Tony" Bougere

Tony has been Senior Vice President Marketing of Markel Cambridge Alliance for 10 years. Tony attends many RIA-related tradeshows and conferences throughout the year in order to stay in tune with the needs of our clients.

Milt Beard

Milt is Senior Underwriter for Markel Cambridge Alliance.  Milt’s strong financial background makes him one of our most knowledgeable underwriters.  Prior to joining Markel Cambridge Alliance, he held positions in investment banking, corporate lending, and mutual fund oversight.

Lisa has been an Underwriter for Markel Cambridge Alliance since August 2008.  Prior to joining Markel Cambridge Alliance, Lisa was with Willis, where she managed professional liability risk retention groups.

Cynthia Johnson

Cynthia has been an Underwriter for Markel Cambridge Alliance since June 2005.  She has worked her entire career in the property/casualty insurance industry in Claims, Operations and Human Resources. She holds a Certificate in General Insurance, an Associate in Claim designation and an Associate in Management designation from the Insurance Institute of America.

Jay Morris

Jay has been an Underwriter for Markel Cambridge Alliance since September 2001.  Jay is also adjunct professor of economics at Champlain College in Burlington where he teaches micro/macro economics and has also taught statistics and personal finance. 

Julie Robbins

Julie joined us as an Underwriting Assistant in 2003, and has proved to be a quick study!  Julie was promoted to underwriter in 2009. Julie graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Vermont.

 

Trent Williams trwilliams@markelcorp.com         Richmond, Virginia Office Trent has been an Underwriter for Markel Cambride Alliance since November 2009.  Prior to joining Markel Cambridge Alliance, Trent was with Travelers, where he was an Underwriter for Investment Advisors, Funds, and Private Equity risks.

Brad Maunsell

Brad has been the Director of Information Technology for Markel Cambridge Alliance since September of 2001.  Among other things, Brad is responsible for building and maintaining our Policy System – from scratch!

Peggy Maunsell

Peggy has been our Daily Operations Manager since 2000.  Peggy has over 15 years of business and marketing experience, working in the computer, banking and mutual fund industries. Before joining Markel Cambridge Alliance, she worked in marketing for MicroPortal.com as a Certified Conference Planner.
